  47. 1. Game Enhancements

  50.   - For faster game play:
  51.       - Reduce the window size.
  52.       - Turn off filled shapes.  This should also turn off movies and
  53.           textures.

  55.   - To stop a movie from playing, press the space bar or the mouse key 
  56.       while it is playing.

  58.   - QSound:
  59.       - QSound will work if you have an AWE32, or a Sound Blaster 16 with
  60.           the optional Advanced Signal Processor.
  61.       - Out programmers are feverishly working on a patch that will allow
  62.           QSound to work on computers that have a Pentium processor and
  63.           a regular stereo sound card.  Please call 1-(800)-VLOCITY to
  64.           get this patch downloaded or sent to you.  Thanks for your
  65.           patience.  Working on the cutting edge is always frustrating.

  67.   - Ammo dumps, shield pickups, and anti gravity packs pickups are not
  68.       always color coded, but sometimes they change color, so be careful!

  71. 2. Documentation Changes

  74.   - The tank will no longer coast to a stop.  When you release a movement
  75.       key the tank will stop immediately.
  76.  
  77.   - When playing network games, you lose your shields and must get new
  78.       ones each time your opponent gets killed.

  80.   - Spectre VR/CD WILL ONLY RUN IF YOU HAVE A MATH CO-PROCESSOR.  This means
  81.       that you MUST have a 486-DX or a Pentium-based computer.

  84. 3. Configuration Options

  87.   - Certain combinations of rendering options are not allowed:
  88.       - If you are running with filled shapes turned off, movies are
  89.         allowed, but textures are not.
  90.       - If you choose textures, filled rendering will automatically be
  91.         selected.

  94. 4. Windows Configuration
  95. ------------------------

  97.   - Be sure that you are using the recommended swap file. This setting is
  98.       made in the "386 Enhanced" section of the Control Panel.  Be sure
  99.       to turn the swap file on, and set it to the size recommended in the
  100.       utility.

  103. 5. Video Card Issues
  104. --------------------
  105.  
  106.   - If you are using a video card that controls bitmaps with hardware,
  107.       be sure you have hardware control of bitmaps turned off in the
  108.       Windows driver.
  109.  
  110.   - There are certain problems with ATI accelerator cards:
  111.       - When using a card which allows palette emulation, be sure that
  112.           you have the 256-color palette turned on.
  113.       - If you have a Mach 32 card, add the following line to the [Mach]
  114.           section of "WIN.INI" in your Windows directory:
  115.

  117.   
  118.       - If you have a Mach 64 card, add the following line to the [Macx]
  119.           section of "WIN.INI" in your Windows directory:

  124. 6. Multi-player Play

  127.   - To play with two players, run install from the CD on each machine on
  128.       which you wish to play.  You will need the two serial numbers
  129.       provided with the game.  Movies are disabled in network mode, so
  130.       neither player will need the CD in order to play.  Follow the setup
  131.       instructions in the manual to set the network configuration.

  134. 7. Modem Play
  135. -------------

  137.    - To achieve best performance on high-speed modems, play either at
  138.        2400 baud or turn off modem packetizing at 9600 baud. Consult your
  139.        modem manual for more on how to do this.

  142. 8. Other Velocity Products
  143. --------------------------

  145.    - Remind Me is a personal reminder utility using all your favorite Looney
  146.        Tunes characters.  It offers countless uses for the memory-challenged
  147.        amoung us.  Test out the demo we've included by running
  148.        \REMINDME\REMINDME.EXE directly from the CD, or copying it to its own
  149.        directory on your hard drive and running it from there.
